A wide variety of different Cross Country competitive events – all staged on private land – are open to all those with a 4×4 or other off-road vehicle including trials and safaris.

Trials put the emphasis on driving skills with classes to suit every type of four-wheel-drive off-roader. Appropriate terrain is selected to challenge particular categories of vehicle whether that be a standard family run-around or a highly modified special.

A full-on competitive Safari requires drivers to tackle a number of arduous cross-country courses, all flat-out and against-the-clock. Clearly marked courses are normally between three and 15 miles in length and include rough tracks, steep banks and tight turns on various surfaces.

– Tyro Trials are open to all those from the age of 13.
– There are dedicated events organised specifically for owners and users of Land Rover vehicles.
