What Is A Motorsport Sprint?

Sprint is a high-speed form of precision motorsport in which drivers take turns to clock the fastest time around a lap of a well-known race circuit or on a point-to-point course, often on disused airfields.

There are many classes to suit all types of cars – from road-going production models right up to specialist single-seaters – and all types of drivers including novices and first-timers.

Events are spread right across the country and generally include a couple of practice runs in the morning followed by two no-holds-barred timed runs in the afternoon, with the fastest times determining the results.

– Sprints are open to anyone aged 14 and over with a RS Inter Club Competition Licence.

– It is possible to compete in an unmodified road car as long as drivers wear a helmet plus flame-resistant overalls and gloves as a minimum.
